    73-87 LSx Long tube headers

Man this is probably one of the hardest things I've come across. I've searched and searched. I've seen some folks with them but never get any answers.

Is there a definitive answer on which longtube headers will work on a 73-87?

I'm at the point where I'm just ready to buy a schoenfield kit and cut/chop the headers where necessary.

I've heard big block... then replace the flange

    I've heard Fbody's might work

I'm sure someone on here has done it. I've hit the search button for a few weeks now and can't seem to come up with anything solid.

    Please provide some input.

    Thanks,
    Rich

I have seen Beatertruck use Fbody headers with minor trimming of the frame for clearance. Not sure which brand of long tubes he used though. Maybe TRTTurbo can tell you for sure. This was on a 2wd application.

Yeah I called them and talked to the guy that did the build for the magazine. He said there was problems with fitment on the driver side. He also made a strong point that the mounts play a huge part in engine/frame space.

I ended up ordering some cheap Stainless F-body headers off ebay to try them out.

This is a quote from a PM I sent to Jomama over on LS1 Tech about his 79.
What stinks is I was impatient and had ordered those F-body headers just minutes before I got his response.
