Could someone please help me out on this. I am seriously thinking about doing a 6.0l swap. I currently have a 5.3. I need some info on what all can be swapped, what would be reccommended to swap, if you could tell me some websites w/ tutorials and info that would be great as well. PLZ HELP!!!

They're basically the same engine. Take all the stuff off the 5.3 you don't have on the 6.0 and put it on the 6.0. Install it and get a tune.

You can use the 4l60e but make sure you buy a newer style 6.0, some of them(cant remember the years) had a different crank that wouldn't mate to a 4l60e. It's a pretty easy straight forward swap, externally they're essentially the exact same. Like stated before, just swap over whatever doesn't come with your donor motor and you'll be good.

That's not really an issue, the only difference is the crank is the spacer, and only a flexplate is bolted to the crank, not a spacer and flexplate like the 01+ trucks.
See if you can install a camaro flywheel and a camaro converter, should bolt right up.

We just installed a large converter in a HD, Yank only offers them in a camaro style flexplate, so we bought that, remove the spacer and everything went in fine.

edited: of course i don't know what kind of transmission you have.

We did one of these swaps at work. Its was a peice of cake! It ran after we got everything bolted up, but you will need to tune to get all the computer and stuff right.

Everything will work, did this procedure on my 99 GMC, went from 4.8 to 6.0 LQ4, all I had to do was tranfer my intake manifold, and try and use the injectors of the 6.0, some early 99 injectors were smaller than required to feed 6.0, and then call Nelson Perfomance, he can custom tune your PCM to adjust fuel curves and timing, that way you get every ounce of power out of it..
Had a 99 GMC ESCB with LQ4 conversion and Nelson Performance tunning, currently workin on my 82 SCB GMC with carbed LQ4 conversion in progress, Also have a 00 SS Camaro that runs mid 11's all day long with bolt ons, Drag race my 79 malibu that has a 496 BBC runnin 10's on motor, shootin for 9's with the 250 shot of nitrous in its near future. Use my 04 2500 chevy to pull my rig around and drive the fam in our 07 NNBS yukon, Die Hard Chevy Fan Till The Death.
