parts checklist and a few questions on 96 tahoe swap

My 96 Tahoe needs a new motor, so I figured Id put a GenIII in it instead of a replacement 350. I know I need the following.

    Motor mount adapter plates
    engine
    headers
    wiring harness

    Am I missing anything?
If I buy a Nelson Performance harness, would that be all I need to get the factory gauges to work? Do I need to run both computers? Ive heard that you did and that you didnt.
Any other small parts that I will need before I get started?
    thanks

One call to Nelson should answer all your questions. All the info you need also, is contained on this site, via the search button. It has been done quite a few times in your year vehicles, pickups being the same. Your gauge wires are available on your new harness & are a snap to hook-up. I would highly recommend buying the GM Service Manuals, set of 2 Volumes, on E-bay. You will need to know all the wires colors coming through your main C-100 connector, on the drivers side dash, and all of this is in the books. If you need help here on the board, you will find that simply asking just one or two questions at a time, will get you better responses. Have fun with your swap.

What do you need the original computer for? Again, Nelson can set you straight on your computer questions.

Ok, one more question, I searched and couldnt find a for sure answer. Would I use earl fittings on the fuel lines of 991955ERL and 991954ERL. Ive already got the fuel rail adapters to -6 an, and 2 8' sectins of -6 an braided line.

yes, a fitting has to be attached to the line before the fuel rail adapters. The answer you're looking for may be on the front page for sumping a fuel tank. All the fittings required to make a braided line to the fuel rail are listed.
