    Cost?

I have a 85 Silverado that is my daily, and im thinking about doing a 5.3/4L60e swap. I was just wondering how much you guys who have done the swap in one of these trucks, have spent start to finish. Thanks for your help!

Besides the cost of the motor, harness, computer and all accesories, I would guess roughly $1k by the time you make changes to the harness and the tuning. Add from there if you need to buy a starter, alt and other needed accesories. Then add in misc. fuel lines, fuel pump, motor mounts, cross members, blah, blah, blah......................But it is so worth it!!!
    ...........Workin' on it...........

$2000 6.0 motor, 4L80e trans, driveline, computer, harness, AC, PS

If running EFI, then harness & new computer tune $800. Fuel system?? Well, overboard is $800.

    Misc crap - $500

    Sandking was pretty much right.

Theres about four and a half grand and thats just what I can remember. Its the little things and countless trips to the part store that will eat away at your bank account. I'm sure I've spent at least another thousand on little parts that I can't even remember. If I did another swap I would just buy a whole truck that had been crashed, it'd be MUCH cheaper in the end and you can always sell whats left over.

I am 95% complete with the same swap into my 72.
My running tally is somewhere close to $4000

I went a little over board on my fuel system and did ceramic headers. Im sure you can do it for less than $3,000. I modded my stock harness too so that was free.

-45,000 mile complete 5.3/4L60e pullout with harness and pcm $1,680. (local Pickup)
-Fuel system(Aeromotive pump and all SS braided lines, an fittings, filters ect.) $700
    -Dyno tune $450
    -Doug Thorley Ceramics $600
    -Early Classic motor mounts $230
    -Drive shaft shorten $100
count on a couple hundred for misc. stuff new O2s are a good idea
