ls2 exhaust manifold flanges and gaskets.

Well, I got a set of exhaust manifolds from an ls2 crate motor. They are supposed to be the same headers as on an 05 corvette or gto. I am having some difficulty locating exhaust manifold flanges and gaskets for this setup. I am beginning to think I made a mistake using these manifolds and GM lists this as not using gaskets at all. That being the case I doubt I am going to be able to find flanges either.

Does any one have any ideas on where I might find these items? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Rufus

There are some GM applications that do not use gaskets. If I get time later I'll look.

EDIT *** Service procedure lists a gasket between the head and manifold but NOT between the manifold and the catalytic converter pipe.

So I am assuming that since there is no gasket between the manifold and cat that the fit between the two is a close tolerance fit and will need to use the actual flanges from the cat pipes. Does that sound correct to everyone?

Does anyone know if OEM flanges are available without the cats?

Does anyone know what exhaust flanges GM recommends with the ls2 crate motor?

Thanks for the quick replies guys!

    new information:
looking at the GM parts website for the ls2 crate motor it states that the motor is used in both the 2006 GTO and corvette. looking at the online auto parts store it shows no gasket for the GTO but shows a manifold to cat gasket for the vette. Felpro 61012.

so the question now is are the manifolds and flanges different between the GTO and the vette?

    Cheers,

Looks like you're correct. I used a GTO the 1st time....looking at a Vette I see there is a gasket.

With that recessed area around the outlet, it could be that a donut gasket thingy goes in there. Maybe no part number cause it is part of the manifold??? Check out this thread.

    NemeSS' GARAGE SALE

Over on ls1tech, hes got pics of what appears to be GTO manifolds like yours, but with donut gaskets i'm talking about. He is also selling the midpipes you are seeking but sale is pending. Go get in line!
