there is a power wire from the transmission, a pink wire, that must have 12v to it. There is normally a wire coming off the brake pedal switch that has 12v coming out of it when the pedal is up and no voltage when the brake is depressed. You can just put 12v to the pink wire all the time if you like but I prefer the brake pedal.

so an all time 12v would work? or should it be hooked to an ignition? and lastly would my old pedal have this switch or would i have to get a new one?
Not sure, you'll just have to test it. Ground will be triggered by the PCM so 12V all the time is fine.
