What Route is the Cheapest way to go?

I have come to a stand still on my truck. Being at least 75 percent of you on here have a higher modded truck then I have I guess its you I should be asking. At this point I have what is done in my sig plus a TBSS intake on the floor in my room. My goals have always been put down around 450 to 550 on the ground while keeping my truck a good (somewhat) reliable (almost) daily driver. I dont think that things wont go wrong sometimes you know. But I have come to the point the next few purchases will be massively saddening to my bank account. I look at it as I have 3 options. I want to know from the people who have already took these routes which one will be the best way to achieve my goals. While keeping money in mind as a factor.
    1. Keep the 5.3. Get the heads reworked ( I priced this at around 1200. So I am going to try and get a better price). Put on the TBSS intake. Upgrade my injectors and get a lil bigger cam. Then buy a very good nitrous kit.
    2. Keep the 5.3. Put the TBSS intake on and add a Front Mount Turbo kit. And maybe still get a bigger cam.
    3. Find a 6.0. Put a bigger Cam in. I believe my headers will work on it. Then put the TBSS intake on it. Maybe a bit better set of heads and so on. That wouldnt put me all the way at my goal but it would put me decently close so later I would have a better foundation for whatever I did.
Any personal experiences with what you have done would really help. I dont want to go broke going in the WRONG direction.

93 at one station. 92 at the rest. That one place is the only one in town worth a crap to get gas at. It is relatively good. I wouldnt say its up there with shell but you know. Got to work with what I got.

If your going to spend $1200 on getting your stock heads reworked, then you should look into Patriat or WCCH heads. It will cost a little more buy you will get alot more out of it.

    2. Keep the 5.3. Put the TBSS intake on and add a Front Mount Turbo kit. And maybe still get a bigger cam.

You will be very happy with the power that this combo puts down, if you want to spend the money on a front mount.

    3. Find a 6.0. Put a bigger Cam in. I believe my headers will work on it. Then put the TBSS intake on it. Maybe a bit better set of heads and so on. That wouldnt put me all the way at my goal but it would put me decently close so later I would have a better foundation for whatever I did

You would need to decide if you are wanting to go boosted in the future, if so then you could pick up a cheap LQ4. If not then you could get an LQ9 and have a good foundation to build on. You're current headers will work on a 6.0l. A nice Cammed, Head, LQ9 would put you close to 400 to the ground im assuming.

WCCH, site sponsor, will port and polish those heads a lot less cheaper than $1200. Contact them for a price. They do great work. I'd bump the compression up to 11:1 and run only premium. It will get you closer but NA 450-550 rwhp out of the 5.3 is a pretty high goal. You really need to start thinking about either forced induction or a big stroker.

Looks like its time to start saving money for a front mount. I guess since I am lookin at next summer before i can purchase the Turbo kit I will put the TBSS intake on and get a bigger cam more suited for turbos while keeping good power till i get one purchased. Thanks for the input guys.

Well looks like it is time to start saving money. If I start working toward it hopefully next summer I will be able to afford one. If you run into any good deals on hardware like the gauges and all the small stuff I need that doesnt come with a kit, keep me in mind. A while ago I had all kit (the way I wanted it, intercooler and so forth) priced and I was pushin 6 grand... not including that wonderful part that uncle sam adds. So I guess the plan would be spec out a great turbo cam that will get some more power out of it till then as well. And also put on that tbss intake. And then Ill wait. I had one specd for n2o. It was a 220-224 581/581 with like a 115 lsa. I was thinkin it would be a good cam just do it on like a 114 lsa. Input?
