    Bad LS Engines

does anybody know what year ls1's have the bad heads on them i know that they can be identified by not having center bolts on the valves covers and that the 97 and 98 are 2 of the years but i didnt know about the 99 and up. And are there anyother not so good ls engines out that people should avoid for swaps.

99+ have perimeter but I'm not sure that means the heads are better or worse. I'll let someone else answer that. You can tell what heads you have by the number cast in near the end of the head.

Ooops. That's what I meant. Used the word "perimeter" instead of center bolt.
