I think I saw a braided set on CKPerformance.com with all fittings for $120?

Those look nice but kind of expensive. What do most people use on their swaps? Would it work if I cut the ends of my old lines and ran rubber hose?

I do that when I have to. I used the stock lines and put short pieces of rubber fuel or tranmission quality hose on mine, to join where the new lines are layed out.

Yep, Red's right. Make sure the hose you use is ATF friendly. Regular hose will turn to mush and leak after a while.

be sure to measure the stuff you have now. The factory 2000 model Tahoe hoses I just finished working with were 3/8".

My new lines were 3/8" and the old ones were 5/16". So I went to the local auto parts store and picked up so 3/8 to 5/16 flared reducers, worked great.

I cut my hard lines on my 80 right after first curve out of tranny, put on an compression fittings, ran -6 hose to the cooler up front.
