    Transmission Life??

    Hey guys,

Well ive read alot about how our 4l60e's are crap, but amazingly enough mine has held up to alot of abuse and hard miles. Still shifts great! I was wondering how long you guys think my 4l60e will last behind my LS1 with mods in sig. As of right now if has 63,000 miles, fluid & filter have never been changed(i stripped the drain bolt) and Im shifting at 6400, then 6300. If everyone thinks the tranny wont last much longer i need to hop on it and start saving some cash for a FLT. How long do you guys think it will hold out for? Anyone have good stories of how there 4l60e lasted forever?? lol...

Another reason why i think it might have lasted this long with no problems is my lighter RCSB truck compared to a CCSB or ECSB less strain on the tranny?

I also vist the racetrack almost every weekend or every other weekend. So this tranny does not have an easy life.

    Brandon

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......

Well thats about it for right now as powerwise..... i was just wondering if it will last a normal lifetime with the mods right now. I just hear stories of how people swap engines and about 2 months later they blow there tranny. Or if your my roommate you blow your tranny on a stock CCSB.

I want to spend my money on appearance and suspension. Last thing i want to do it get a FLT and TC, but i also dont want to blow my tranny and be dead in the water until i have the cash.

Im just looking for people with experience with these thing breaking or lasting.

    Thanks Brandon

It varies so much from vehicle to vehicle and from year to year it's tough to say.
