working with EFI live is it able to read '07 BCM?

One problem solved, the next one pops up..... that must me the real life..

As you all know I am converting a '97 Tahoe to the latest GEN 5.3 (AFM and Flex fuel)

Today I built my bench harness to connect DLC connector, ECU (E38), TCM and the BCM to EFI live.
I could connect to ECU and TCM, could also read and store the .tun files (ECU is a 2007 Avalanche 2wd, LMG ). But the BCM is invisible. I think EFI live may not be able to read the BCM? Any ideas?

Also I wanted to go deeper into the E38's programming, for my conversion I need the speed sensor output enabled and programmed for the correct pulses /mile to use them for my '97 antilock system. But looking to the speedo section in EFI live only showd me the "normal" stuff as final drive, tires, ...

    Thanks for your help

you'll need a Snap-On, Tech II or similar scanner to read BCM. HPTuners and EFILive don't do it as you see. I use a Snap-On Modis to read BCM.

BTW, any ODBII scanner that's decent should be able to read BCM. You shouldn't have to buy the best if you don't need it. I see scanners from $35.00 to $7000.00 on ebay.

    BCM dilemma

    Hi Nitrous,

and I thought I bought the best I could take for my application... and now I am stuck with that (damn..) BCM..

Did you check out the progress of my GEN IV conversion... I posted some threads on the GM performance forum... don't know if I should start a thread here. If there is interest in it I will do so...

Working with an '07 you'll need a CANdI module too.

It's an adapter for the TechII to able to communicate on the high speed buss that the '07 has.

There may be aftermarket solutions as well. Not sure.

    Bcm

ok.. then I have to look into other scanners than my EFIlive.
As my BCM came out of a different truck I am not sure if I have to change the VIN or if that application fits mine..

I just posted some info on my swap in a different thread..

The VIN needs to match the PCM VIN.

    Vin

I could change the VIN on ECU and TCM to the BCM VIN... that might help? At least EFIlive could perform this
