yeah an LS6 cam makes pretty good power in the 4.8's and you can usually pick them up for a good price

that cam will still make good power in an LS1 and keep you from really needing a stall

    i would try something like a 212/218 114lsa.

im currently running a 226/226 112 lsa cam in my ls1 with a stock converter and it isnt bad at all. the only thing i dont enjoy about the setup is the shift extensions but down low grunt is still there...ofcorse ive got a little more than the avg truck i guess. all you need is a good tune. i had a 3600 converter in it for my 1.69 60' and i have a 4000 being built right now.

    old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (

Are you wanting a little bump with it? If so look at the cam specs below in my sig. You can run this cam with a S/C, nitrous or without anything. you have plenty of options when it comes to LS1 cams. you really need to think about future mods to determine the best application.

whats the chances there is some dyno info floating around the world wide web that shows different production camshafts installed in a relatively stock 5.3?
LSX conversions, so easy a caveman can do it.

Nelson Performance can tune the pcm, you'll pass emissions with no issues. My cam is definetly noticable but doesn't hit too hard. You'll need springs and retainers though, I recommend the Patriot dual golds for the price but you can go with Comp 918's if you wish. The 224/224 581/581 114 or 112 are both good cams also depending on performance mods.
