'87 and older conversions: post here

I'm looking for anyone who has an '87 or older and has done a conversion. If you could post setups, thoughts, experience, notes, prices, parts... pics would be good, too. Links to build threads would be great as well.

Hell, why don't we just do the conversion for you? Just drop your truck off and come pick it up in a week.

My truck is in Lewisville... If I had the money and the time I would be quite serious about it. I don't have either.

pcmcobra and 86 Silverado LS1, I've been reading your threads, I won't say extensively, but quite a bit. Thanks.

I think one of my first big snagss was with the motor mounts and the trans/converter setup. I kept my Th350 trans and my first motor mounts(carshopinc) moved the trans 1" forward, so I had to swap to "S&P 1inch back" mounts. After that, I had trouble with my GM pilot extension and B&M TH350 converter. The extension needed to be milled a little, but I just got rid of it and the B&M and just bought a LS1/TH350 converter off ebay. Good luck with it.

Feel free to ask any Q's you have...everyone on this board was extremely helpful when I did mine.

You'll find quite a few swaps have been done... A number of us have threads in this section. I'd have to dig around to find mine, but it's here.
