It depends on what it costs to buy the LS1 and transmission. A 5.3L would be cheaper if you're worried about cost. Consider the cost of the engine/trans and add about $2000 for misc expenses.

yea, i've been looking on car-parts.com at 5.3L's. what kind of power can these put out? can they keep up with LS1's? how hard is it to bolt these motors up and get them running?
