    Decided to look at my plugs today because one had plug wire had been bad so I wanted to see what it looked like. I pull cylinder 1 and see that the plug has about zero gap, don't know how it got that way. But I go ahead and gap it since I can't get any new plugs today. And suprise suprise it runs quite a bit smoother and my lowend power problem has been solved.

    But I still want to replace all the plugs, I am going with NGK and was wondering if the Iridium or Platinum NGKs are really any better than the good old copper plugs.

    good to hear its runnin better. I heard the platnum plugs are ok, but no experience with them.

    I think I am just going to go with the standard copper plugs, they are quite a bit cheaper and worked fine in my 94 z-28 so I'll just stick with them. They may not last that long but who wants to keep plugs in an engine over 20k anyway? I've heard bad things about the factory plugs having the platinum tips fall off and other things, but I haven't heard a bad word about the good old 1 dollar tr-55 or 6s if your running the gas.

    Anybody have anything else to say on the plugs feel free to contribute your experiences.

    I installed the factory a/c brand platinum plugs at $8.50 a piece only to have the electrode burn off one, also. I changed them to good ole cheapies and no more problems. Plus I can change them every 20k miles and not blink an eye.

    I ran the factory one too and i burned off 2 ground staps and electros on 2 of them
    old set up: 2002 chevy 5.3, procharger 12lbs boost, asm headers, ls1 edit, flames, 20inch budniks

    New Set up: 2004 chevy 5.3 ext cab, 12 inch twisted suspension lift, 36's, exhaust.
    future mods: 150-200 shot, ls1 edit, air intake, stall, 5.13 gears, 12s or bust
