My block says 4.8/ 5.3l is there a way for me to find out which one it is?
I was told it was a 5.3l![]()
what did it come from? silverado/sierra or tahoe/yukon?
13.4 @ 98mph. Cammed/Stalled/LTs/Tune and those lame 3.42s!
I was told it was from a silverado/sierra I will email the seller and confirm.
the only way to tell if 5.3 or 4.8 is by the serial number, from the outside
1987 jeep wrangler, 1999 LS 1, 4l60 231j transfercase, dana 30 frontend ford 8.8 rearend 3:73 gear ratio. sandersons shortie headers, 2.25 inch exhaust into 3 inch flowmaster muffler.
I went through that already the serial # on the block is 12551358 which comes up as a 4.8 / 5.3l block. doesn't help me at all really. Seller contacted me back. its a 5.3l
12551358 isnt the serial number... thats the part/casting number.
the serial number would be a etched number that coresponds with the VIN#
of the vehicle it came from. usually a dot matrix etching.
