Hey I was wondering if your guys ls conversion sits about an inch farther to the right side? I was looking at mine and noticed it wasnt center in the truck. Strange. I'm wondering if I should figure out a better motor mount system or something. Also the exhaust manifold is hitting slightly on the drivers side. If I move it over it will never clear. Wondering if anyone else has ran into this?

I bought the street & performance mounts and it is going in a 1990 chevy truck. I raised the original mounts up about an inch.

The frame is weird on the OBS trucks, very bulky on the passenger side. I have the S&P style mounts and the engine fit fine without raising anything. I went from a OBS V8 to the GenIII engine without issues, twice.

I raised the engine up sp the a/c compressor would clear. I now hope the magnacharger clears the hood but we'll see. I still have some issues with the passenger side motor mount. I will probably have to re drill the s&p plate to get obs motor mount to line up right. I get the supercharger tomorrow so it will definatley be christmas in april tomorrow.

Will you, or are you going to use your factory gauges? Does Allen set up the wiring to use the factory gauges? Will I still be able to use my after market tach? I have some homemade 3/16” motor mount plates that I copied from a friend are those too thin or should I use the S&P or carshopinc mounts they are 5/16”? I hope to soon be doing this same project, so just thought I would ask.

I am using my gauges. My speedo goes to 110 so I think that will be enough . Your tach wont work as the ls1 fires a double spark it would make your tach read double the rpm because of this. I really like the s&p motor mounts made it easy to put on the motor mounts to the engine. If I was'nt running a/c it would have bolted right in.

Bakerelectronix.com has a tach module to fix the pulse count. 3/16-1/4" thick steel plate is plenty thick to hold the engine. The factory stuff is only about 1/8". I used 1/4" plate last time I made a set.

i made mine so to set the engine forward to clear the a/c compressor and use the OE location
of the transmission Xmember i used scap .750" billet aluminum for the adapter plates. also i used
turners v8 stands to locate the mounts to the Kmember instead of using the frame rails
