Hello everybody. I'm Dave, here from Denver Colorado. I've got a 1996 Yukon GT with a 6" Cepek lift and 35" tires, and 4.56 gears.

The truck does alright with the vortec 350, but I want to give it a little more push. I was initially going to take the route of re-working what I have and go with a stroker 383, and while looking for ways to get rid of that octopus sequential central port fuel injection system, I found this site. I joined to learn more about what it takes to convert what I have over to an LS1.

If anyone has any info / links / book recommendations / advice on this type of swap, I'd really appreciate it. I've already learned quite a bit from reading through the posts on this site.

Welcome You could just repower it with a complete drop out from a late model 4x4.

How does the wiring and such work with a newer engine/tranny? Isn't the fuel injection system different on the newer trucks? I'm not really too worried about the mechanical aspect of the swap - it's that I don't know much about how the computer/dash guages/fuel injection/trans shifting stuff works together. Is going with a newer truck engine going to be that much easier than putting an f-body LS1 in the truck?
