oh worked out cool..i transferred the plugs from the old harness to the new one. however on the neutral safety switch there are about 3 or 4 wires that dont connect to anything. ill take a pic tommorow but i know one is for vss but not sure about the other ones. Also i have a buddy who just put a 6.0 in an impala ss and he didnt use that plug on the driver side of the trans. not sure how tho..

so now i got the right motor mounts i was able to bolt up the drivetrain. ended up pulling the motor back out so i could modify the factor harness. also wired up the engine. my new harness doesnt have a plug for the knock sensor in the oil pan. is that bad? also i broke my timig cover when i trying to align the engine. and also a coil. if anyone has a coil and timing cover for sale please let me kno!

That sensor in the oil pan isn't a knock sensor it is for oil level. You don't need it.

oh ok...question for ya...i was looking through http://lt1swap.com/1996_vortec_5.7/index.htm trying to figure out what wires i need to take from the old pcm and connect to the new one. so far this is what ive gathered.

    blk connector
1 fuel pump.. connect this wire to the relay on the new harness

4 vss output splice green wire from harness onto this so i have the signal for the new pcm and still have functional speedometer gauge

5 connect to mil control on new harness for check engine light

10 connect to tcc wire on harness

    blue connector

10 tcc connect to tcc on harness

then i believe all thats left would be the tach signal..not sure how to find that wire and im not sure which wore connects to the tcc.

just looking at the schematics this is what i think i will have to do. correct me if im wrong.

moving right along, looks good!!!! wish i could help you out on the wiring. i haven't got that far on mine yet & i'm running only the LS1 ECU. i still have to figure which wires to tie into for the speedo & tach.

thanks man! its a slow steady project. yea i dont think it will be that difficult. im just checking with pitch black because he is very knowledgeable and has helped me out so much during this build. once i get everything working ill will definitely pass the info along.

For the speedo, you will need to use the output from the new PCM. Your 96 gauges need the PCM to translate the VSS signal into a usable signal based on gear ratios and tire size.
The tach will use the output from the PCM as well. The tune can be adjusted to work with the 96 tach which is looking for a 8 cyl output rather than the 4 cyl output the 99-up gagues want to see.
If your harness doesn't have PCM outputs for those 2 things, you will want to add them.

ok cool...any idea what pin that would be from the harness? everything else was right?
