Yeah, I've never done that in a NBS but I have done two OBS conversions. If they quote you a price for the engine, take anything and everything you can for the money. Take the whole car if you can. Like I say, if they'll give it to you in the price of the engine, take it and sell off what you don't need. Do as much research as you can and post every where for information. It's not that difficult to do the swap, it's much easier when you get all the parts that match together. Be sure the wiring harness you get is for the transmission type you want to run. You can rewire the automatic transmission section if you have to do that. If they'll throw in the wiring from another harness with all the pins from the PCM intact it's not too difficult. I've done that before and it's nothing more than plugging in about 15 wires and supplying 12v to the solenoids. If your truck is an automatic you should be able to use the transmission for a little while. You will most likely require a crankshaft spacer and bolts to guide the torque convertor when using the V6 transmission. As for fuel, I am not sure if you'll need a new pump or not. I know my V6 in my Astro van has the high pressure high volume pump so I'm sure your pump should work.

you will not have to use a crankshaft spacer. the V6 tranny is the same tranny the 4.8/5.3s have. you will not have to change your fuel pump...but i had to by a custom fuel rail cuz the eninge was deadhead and the truck was return.

again...if you&#39;re doing a 5.7 swap..NIETHER WIRING HARNESS IS NOT GOING TO WORK. You will have to purchase a custom built one.

You can use a fuel filter from a 2000 Vette if the motor you go with has a returnless fuel rail. The filter is a regulator also and has a return. That&#39;s how I did it.

Yeah, here too. The Corvette filter has a built in regulator to feed 58 lbs of continous fuel pressure to the "dead head" type fuel rail. Also, a camaro/firebird harness will work for the conversion if you know how to work with even the simplest of wiring. There is not much to converting the harness to work with your vehicle if you&#39;re on a budget. There are engine PCM wiring schematics all over the place on the internet, LS1Tech has many of them. If you need detailed wiring, Hummertech may be able to get more detailed info for you or you can subscribe to online car service manual through Autozone. You can also purchase a wiring harness adapter on Ebay that plugs the LS1 F-body harness to your vehicle. Check out Ebay for more details on the adapter.
