It's like werewolves on a full moon....every now and then a couple of Lightning owners get a tick up their pooter and come kicking around here with something to prove.

As stated - 13's aren't considered fast. 13's were fast about 3 or 4 years ago. Today, "fast" is at least mid to low 10's. If you aren't running that, you aren't considered "fast" by the die hards.

Is a 13 second ride fun? Sure. But so are pogo sticks and sit-and-spins. They're kind of like a 13 second ride - good for a laugh but no one really wants to waste time on one.

    actually cost vs speed vs...

Example: You could buy an '04 4.8L regcab for about $6K, then easily throw on a 112 radix for under $1000 and have it outrun your L, with a 4.8L.
Hey, just saying, you brought it up.

If you think you have a fast nice truck that's great, more power to you, all of us GM owners think the same about ours, but your L will never be faster when comparing similar mods.

Now throw a bunch of money at it, now it's anyone's game.

If you really break it down!!!!!

    - its supposed to be a fast truck?
    - its supercharged?
    - it was expensive new and still pricey to buy a used one?
    - its runs 14-15 second 1/4 times?

The Lightning is actually a huge JOKE!!!

Speed vs Money? Sure, that applies to stock. But when you actually want to go fast (which I don't consider a 13 second truck fast), the money on an L really adds up.

Also, I assume you mean RST... which was simply an appearance package.
Nitrous is a universal poweradder, it is NOT like cams, boost, or more displacement, i could add "2 stages of fast" into my moms saturn and be faster than you. BTW i paid 10k for my 2000, im sorry you owe twice as much as me.

Oh yeah you NEVER talk trash. Ask La Ricky Bobby im the last person to ever EVER talk trash, im the lasat person to call someone out.

Seriously? Me and La ricky bobby have a lot of respect for you, if it wasnt for you, WE would NOT be building his truck.

Thats hilarious, DRWP has a vid of a tuned TBSS killin a radix heads/cam 4.8, that same TBSS would be dead even with me. Are you saying that if you have add an exhaust to a L and 5.3 RCSB the RCSB will be faster, im sorry but, by the time that RCSB becomes as fast a L it would be on its second tranny, and the owner would be pissed because he could of either swapped a 6.0 liter in it or just bought a Lightning. Maybe when Flacos truck beats Owheelies then i'll sell mine, find me a ECSB and drop a LQ9 with some spray in it. Lightning FTW

I was just saying that almost every "Ricer" in the area runs 14-17's and thinks their chit is fast. Some do a ton of mods and get into the 13's hence being fast for a ricer. Cars that I don't consider ricers are Supras, Evo's, STI's, and a few others. People actually make these fast meaning they run 12's and quicker. The EL Ricky Booby in the Austin area runs 12.0's on 6.0 in a full weight truck. He makes short work off all the Ricers in the area...
