    95 z71 6.0 swap

Hey guys i'm new to the site but have been searching around for a couple of weeks before i tear into my swap. i just mainly want some confirmation on a few details. ok first is my tranny will work just fine if i install a tcc solenoid? Ive also read that the factory power steering lines will hook up to the new pump? Also does anyone have any pictures they can post of their custom mounts for mounting the old ac compressor to the new set up? Thanks alot in advance, Josh

Which trans? I'm not sure on the lines as far how they hook up. There is a sticky here that shows basically every possible option you could have. There is also a very recent thread in the garage section by 93ND that shows the options for the AC stuff. I just don't feel like looking it all up when you are capable of doing so. A little searching goes a long way.

4l60 trans. I will do some more searching i am just doing all of this on my phone, which is making things a little difficult. the questions i asked i either found 2 different answers or the application was a little different than mine. I have read the stickys and used the search some but havent found exactly what i'm looking for yet i guess. I was just hoping i could get confirmation

Hey guys just giving you an update. I sold my 79 camaro and funds for the swap are in hand! I have done alot of reading and am in the process of making a shopping list. I already have a harness i bought off ebay a while back, if i remember right the guy said it was a hot rod lane harness? It came with a computer with vats deleted and set up for a 5.3, but some of the labels on the wires came off so maybe i can get some help from em. I think i an going to get the dirty dingo truck mounts, and for fueling a corvette filter setup like in the sticky with a walbro 255. Any word on if NITROUS has the header to fit my truck? i remember reading an older post that he was working on some. I will continue to update and will post pics later, any input or suggestions is appreciated! -Josh

not sure but maybe you need the 4.8/5.3L dished flexplate with the spacer on the transmission side of the flexplate. Mount the converter to it by hand first before trying to stab the trans in. Be sure the bolt holes line up and the pilot is engaged. This is assuming you have the late model 6L with the short crankshaft, end of crank almost flush with the crankshaft seal. If the crank hangs out of the seal about 1/2" you have the 1999-2001 early style 6L and you will have to slot the bolt holes on a flat Gen3 flexplate or drill new holes.
See my truck data in the "My Garage" section here... http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/my-ga...tml#post191709

I had the dished flexplate and spacer on there first and the hub of the converter was supported by the spacer and bottomed out before bellhousing touched. But that got me thinking maybe the dished flexplate without the spacer will work? Is that possible? And thanks for your help guys I'm ready to get this goin!

Ok guys I done some calling around to a dew shops and figured out the problem. I didn't know this but the trail blazer converter won't work with my early lt style transmission the input shaft is set up differently I believe. So trail blazer converter is for sale cheap and a circle d converter for my tranny will hopefully get ordered this week and things will be back to rolling!
