humm..is that the reason ppl use some other setup instead of the LS style compressor? I was planning on using one for my swap. I thought i read its a clutchless something design that never turns off and you cant use it on OBS style AC head units lol

I'll have to do some digging for the frame pics but yes, you'll have to cut and fit a piece to go in and you'll find out the F-body A/C compressor is a bitch to fit in that hole. I went with a 5.3/6.0 compressor to get the fittings on the side and machined an extra groove in the harmonic balancer for belt alignment. With the F-body A/C lines going out the back you'll have to cut about 3 1/2" to 4" out of your cross member and a hell of alot more out of the frame rail. The A/C setup is the hardest part of the installk if you ask me. If you're looking for a challenge notch the frame. If you want to make life easy, use the S&P relocator kit. They will both work well in the end.

I agree with NITROUS. I mounted mine like nitrous is talking about. I wanted the factory look and didnt want to spend the $ for the S&P setup. I also wanted my motor as low and as far back as possible. Now that it is done I like it but if I had it to do again it would be up top. Way too much time and money to put it down low and you cant see any of it. It will also be tough if you ever have to get the compressor off. But....it does look good. Good luck.![]()

Yeah and if you don't tie the frame back in like it was from the factory you now have a weak link. I'm real happy with mine because of the way the top of the motor looks. Once the supercharger is sitting on top it will look even cleaner. LOL

Thanks for the pics. and all the replies, it has definately helped me make my decission. I don't think I like the idea of notching the frame as big as you have to.
