Red, you sure do have a lot of information up in that head of yours!
That is great info. Talk about rethinking all projects now with GM coming out with bigger and better motors!
But for 850, that is a pretty good deal.

No doubt about that. You could buy the 5.3 for all the accessories you're going to need and strip it down the the longblock and sell that off after you build the 6.2L. If you want bad to the bone power and light weight for quicker ETs, that would work. If you just want to get it up and running, the 5.3 is a good way to start and you'll have most of the parts to make the 6.2L swap later if you choose to do that.
with the L92 heads you'll need the L92 truck intake or the L76 car intake. check out SDPC2000.com for more information. search L92 or L76 for parts and pieces or you can buy a ready to run L92 for about $5000 is what I heard from a GMperformance parts rep on an interview at the PRI 2006 show.

Hey thanks for all the replies guys, I am from Idaho for the guy that asked. I think the 5.3 sold which is no big deal, I just thought it was a good deal and looked at it. The idea guys is to build a performance motor and then install it in my truck sometime during 2007. Im in high school so i cant work all the time but during the summer i can make up to around 500 bucks a day of which a large portion of that I can spend on whatever i want, the rest goes to savings. I have the 350 vortec and although I cant complain with its power or good gas mileage, I just want something with more power. My ultimate goal would be to have around a 350-400 horsepower motor in my truck. Ive thought about just rebuilding my 350 with performance parts or putting a blower on it, but i think that having an LS type engine would be better. I know its harder to install a newer LS type engine in mine than it would be to build up a 383 or whatever, but i think it would perform better and be a lot cooler to have a new generation engine in my OBS sierra. As for the 6.2 idea i really like it. Im getting new paint and new lift/tires and wheels with gears soon, but after a couple months i could really start saving for it. Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
i havent seen it on any of your normal sites tx. if it were my choice and i wanted a v8 i'd buy that 5.3 for sure at that price. 6.2 is gonna run a lot more money.
Sorry tx i thought it sold since that thread isnt near the top anymore. I figured the person that emailed you about it bought it or you ebayed it since not very many people were seriously interested. Sorry i was mistaken

So these L92 heads/L76 intake will bolt on my LQ4 6.0? What can I run for a cable driven TB?
Then all I have to do is get a 4" stroker kit.
There are a couple companies making 90mm cable driven throttle bodies. It all bolts to your 6.0L short block. Many are currently doing the swap. You'll be able to reuse 1/2 of your current rockers and have to buy 8 new intake or exhaust rockers, I can't remember which right now.

What about the valve covers and exhaust manifolds? will they bolt up?
Also is there a good full set of aftermarket rockers? or are the stock ones good enough? with the 8 replaced.
I know what my tax return will be spent on.
