    I put that 3 wire sensor in my 1992 chevy pickup and the gauge reads perfect.

    I don't think the gauge is what I would be worried about. It's the PCM thinking your engine is colder than it actually is and not adjusting the air/fuel/spark correctly. Maybe check the to see what the PCM is reading? If that seems fine, then you should be good. The reason it may not work is the PCM uses a 5V reference, and some gauges use a 12V reference. So the 12v signal will interfere with the 5V signal. I would also be worried that even if they're both 5V that one signal would throw the other one off because the gauge signal literally goes through the brass into the head to ground.
