Thanks man....yeah, after we got the mazda rolling, I realized how badly I needed a newer powerplant...lol. If all goes well, the Mazda will actually be done this year...final wheels are on the way, paint and bodywork are lined up (what you see is primer). Maybe I'll have time to work on my Blazer some time in there too...

Minor update...Sold my SBC today, so time to start ordering parts I'll probably start up a new thread when I actually get around to putting the beast back together..

What heads are you going with? Maybe you can get a set of 243's or have the 317's worked to bump the cr a bit more as well if thats what you are wanting. Now if only the truck was high enough off the ground to be useful

    Thanks guys....

I've built trucks with a little more ground clearance as well...lol...just not my personal ones. I did a small blocked Nissan 720, lifted on 36x16.5's, dana 44 rear, toyota front, bobbed bed 22".

Dana 44 disc brake rear out of a 93 Isuzu Trooper and 63" FS Chev leaf springs

It's also getting a full exo cage, so far only the rock sliders are on..

305 and 700r-4 with an NP205 transfer case.

It's never even hit a trail yet, and we're pulling the suspension and swapping it all out for a 4-linked setup front and rear and 1-ton running gear on 42's...should be fun.

Any way....lol. I'm probably gonna be keeping the 317's, they look to be in awesome shape. I'm trying to keep the machine work and cost to a minimum on this one, and I think the lq9 pistons will get me in the ball park for where I want to be. Trying to keep the pricetag reasonable on this one...plus I still have to shell out the $$$ for Efi Live...

Also, picking up my 4L80 tomorrow

hah..I'm not sure if I could talk him into swaping out the small block..he doesn't really care that much about this one....I have a feeling I will building him a 6.0 or 6.2 for one of his other projects though
