Well, if your 4WD is shot and you don't use it--why not convert it to a 2wd setup when you do the T-56?

A 2WD conversion is a pretty tricky swap. It is not for the meek. Plus it'll cost a bunch. Ask Mean05 about it...

yeah, if you play your cards right and have all your stock parts sold before you remove them you will have funds to do the conversion.

Yes, but then you still have to get a 2WD tailhousing and tailshaft and your front axle and crap is still there. To me, not worth it.

Driveable? None. If its your DD and you must drive it--then don't consider the swap.

couldnt i just not drive it for a weekend while the swap is done??
I'm getting completely mixed responses on the swap. "oh ya, totally do it", or "hell, no. not worth it."
my 4WD, i don't need it, but im willing to keep it if i have to. i dont tow/haul, and it's my only vehicle and will be for a long time

I learned long ago to never race or mod your only means of transportation. Buy a $500 beater if you have to because you never know what is going to get in the way of completing a modification.
