Favorite tuner/harness builder?

painless can give you a whole new harness for 595.00 and there running a special that comes with a free tune to get you up and going. if your going to mod out you will probably find someone local to dyno tune before its all over with because thats the only way to fly right. Painless wires are as good if not better than any in the buisness. there are curently about 28 companys just in texas who build harnesses and tune. just make sure you use some one who will take all the crap off like the theft protection etc. because some fly by night places don't another reason to consider nelson there well known...

So $595 for a painless harness, and $600 for a nelson harness. Painless gives you a free "tune" to get you up and going, but you said you might need a real tuner to tune for your mods. So what's the difference I guess? Seems like it's the same price, not to mention the fact that Nelson can get you up and going instead of relying on a "tune" from a company that does not specialize in tuning.

Im not downing you i have heard from many that your one of the best in the business but 450.00 + 150.00 to get running is too much for many on a budget. I agree if i were building a show truck and wanted to look pretty, there would be no other I would run but yours. not to mention I know your wire is a better grade than oem in the long run but im a poor boy on a poor budget and im just interested in going faster than the next. and by the time the oe wire wears out I be wanting a new project any how.. but just to clarify to all if you want a quality, dependable product and you have the coin to do it right the fist time or your building something to last forever go with nelson....

You see, you dont have a real budget or real goals... just a poor boy excuse lol. Its always cheaper to do things right the first time and Nelson's prices are some of the most competitive in the business when you compare the $ to product quality ratio (which is excellent). But hey if your on a mega budget why not build the harness yourself then to save money right?

guys im not out here to sell anyones harness, im just throwing out info i have found out by searching every one seams to have a different idea of what a budget is , and somtimes searching web sites to find info is hard and time consuming because people hang on there preferance rather than just stating facts. and if any one here has ever built hot rods than you would know two identical engines may like different tunes to make them happy hence the reason for a dyno tune. I mean if you want a generic tune meaning every one gets the same "hot rod tune" then get it but don't be suprised when joe blow blows by you with a smaller cam and less money in his truck. I simply state info thats it you the reader can decide if you want cheap, simple, easy, long lasting or what ever, you get what you pay for is true most times but i cannot tell you how many old timers take stock parts mod them and make money bag kids with all the bells and wistles look stupid. some stock stuff can be made to work pretty easly but the world looks at everything out of the lazy mans eyes. why work when i can just buy and plug and play. then you have to ask yourself am i building a project or am i buying parts like a lego set and just assembling. there is a small joy in knowing your blood sweat and tears are in a project instead of just having your last years income in a bolt together investment, if thats what you want just let someone else build it for ya... all i can say is i love when someone likes what you built and says you must have a bundle in it and i say no there is little money in it but its in the right spot. save money where you can and invest it in more power via cam, supercharger, etc....

No one attacked you and no where have you ever mentioned getting a dyno tune (till now) which would obviously benefit anyone vs a mail order tune... If you wanna talk about puttin in a investment, hows about buy HP tuners an put in the time yourself mr sweat n tears.

built my truck from frame up no exaggeration frame up in just over 30 days, and now i have hp tuners. i can honestly say ive had my hand on every single bolt and wire on my truck
