The only thing is that you need to find the right engine with an 58x reluctor wheel on the crank in order for it to work with the new style pcm. The ealier versions were 24x wheels.
Yeah, gotta change the reluctor wheel out or swap cranks if it has the 58 tooth reluctor on the 07+ trucks.

I was reading some more today and found out that some motors have different reluctor wheels. How many teeth does mine have and which year motors match?
Well it looks like he needs to have a genVI motor and those are still pretty pricey so I think he is gonna stick with the 5.3 and save up for a turbo kit.
