    Thanks for all the replies. I know the factory 5 speed is junk and plan to change to T56 or Tremec and the shifter mounts farther back. I would like to see a picture of inside of cab with T56/Tremec installed if someone has one.

    this is in my 98 chevy SBRC c-1500 with a 99-02 style console with the shifted mounted at the rear of the t-56 they make a relocator kit but i wanted really quick tight shifts, and they are just that. it feels like im shifting a car.... i cut a new hole probably 8 inches or so behind the stock one. and just riveted and siliconed a plate over the stock hole. works AWESOME hope this helps

    That is what I wanted to see. I will have to go to bucket seats. I see some
    changed to later model interior.What did the t56 come from?

    its out of a 2002 camaro z-28. MAKE SURE you get one off an ls1 or the bell housing will not work.
