    5.3/1998 4L60E questions

I have a 1998 Silverado extended cab short bed. I have the motor (5.3 out of a 2003) in the truck with the factory 4L60E. My question is did any of you that have completed this swap have to lengthen or shorten the drive shaft?

driveshaft was fine. If your going with the 03 make sure the gas pedal, TAC module, and PCM are from the same vehicle.

I had to move my transmission crossmember up one hole on the passenger side but other than that the drive shaft should be fine.

When I put the 5.3 4l60e in my 97 I did not have to modify my driveshaft or corsssmember.

Not 100% sure but I think the 80e is longer than than the 60e so you may have to shorten yours alittle...
