The VSS means Variable Speed Sensor. Its a sensor plug-in on the rear tailstock of all our transmissions that runs forward & is part of the engines computer wiring harness. The white wire that Lance mentions, comes from your/our newer LS computer, and is a source of a VSS signal that the ABS brake module needs to see, to operate the anti-lock brake system(ABS) properly. All of the yellow tape wrapped plug-ins that were connected to your ABS module, need to be put back. They were not part of your old engines harness. There was only one wire(or two) that was part of your old engine/transmission harness that you should cut from the ABS module. This is a VSS signal wire that can be had from the new LS computer. The one Lance mentioned. Contrary to what others say about needing the old trucks computer, it is not needed for the ABS. Follow?
