Get you an Eaton posi or Auburn Tru-Trac and you will not have any problems. These will still allow the rear wheels to turn at different speeds when turning.

Hey, just saw this post, nice talking to you and I'm working on a parts list for you.

Your truck is going to be very reliable and strong!

    see you soon,

Hey guy’s I’m new to the forum and I have been searching 567234ta’s post not that I’m stocking or anything I’m just in love with his conversion setup and I want to do the same swap to my 96 4x4 Suburban! Now my question was sense the weight of 567234ta’s truck is lighter than mine, would my rear end hold up even with a Tru Trac or would a 14bolt SF have to be swapped in? 567234ta, your truck is AWESOME its one bad beast!!!! Thanks guys…. Chris.

Convert to a 14 bolt for durability. Its one of the cheapest mods you can do and can be easily done in a day.

I know I have a 91 model 14 bolt that was 6 lug in my truck. It was out of a 2500. It has 11" brakes and is about 3/4" narrower than my 10 bolt.

I ended up getting a 1973 Silverado 12 bolt for my truck. It still has the 5x5 lug bolt pattern, but the leaf spring perches were to narrow. Also the shock mounts were in the wrong spot. Its like a 1/4" wider than stock if I remember correctly. Which is only 1/8" wider when centered under the truck. If you can fabricate and measure angles its still not a bad deal. Complete rear end cost me $75.00. Got it from a friend!
