    fuel pump

I always thought the ls engine used a different fuel pump than the 96-up. According to our "sticky" on the swap it says anything pre 96 would need the walbro pump, so should my pump work since I have a 96 gmc that was a 5.0/auto?

Yes, it'll work fine. I'm running a stock 97 vortec fuel pump and pushing 420 plus rwhp.

Mine didn't work but the check valve was bad in the tank.

I think the fuel was going through the lines and back into the tank, would not hold good fuel pressure at WOT.

thats good news because the fuel pump in it right now is only about 4-5 months old.

not from personal experience but from what I've read and spoke with others about 95-down will need to upgrade there fuel pump. Alot are recommending the walbro 255.

I've always used the Walbro pump for a 87 Buick Grand National in the OBS trucks.

The one for the GN plugs in like a factory replacement? or do you have to get a whole new pickup and fittings and everything?
