    Super-Sink Cooler

    Hey guys, i thought i would let you guys in on them genius at work here.

    I'm working on an idea to cool fuel temps down to almost freezing (32dg, water freezing temp, nobody likes frozen fuel).

    today i recieved my heatsink/enclosure for the project which will contain all the magic needed to get the job done. here are some pics.


    dimensions of the enclosure are 6.00''x6.50''x2.25'' which will make a nice compact package, easily mountable and very pretty once i get into anodizing the heatsinks.


    unfortunately, i can't reveal the technology yet that will accomplish all of this since i'm highly protective of ideas until they are patented, which is in the works right now.

    Does it mount inside the fuel tank or outside? Sounds like a cool idea....

    underhood would be ideal unless you want to insulate the fuel lines from end to end on the truck. . . plus it not exactly weatherproof. . .''yet''. . . just working on a prototype right now

    Thought about doing something similar with peltier modules once. However, I was going to use it to heat glow fuel for my model airplanes. These have a hot and cold side. You might look into them.


    From info site: Peltier cooling modules are solid-state active heat pumps that transfer heat from one side to the other based on the Peltier effect. Applying DC voltage to a cooling module transfers heat efficiently from a component to a heat sink which is then cooled by ambient air or forced air from a fan.

    I spent most of Memorial Day getting this finished up, all i have to do now is make two gaskets and some soldering!

    why only make it colder than 32* while water freezes at 32*, fuel freezes at much much colder. If you drop that temp down to say -20 or even colder there is alot more HP to be had

    I don't want to freeze the water vapor in the air, it might snow in my intake...and that's bad.

    32dg seemed possible compared to -20dg. I dare somebody to try and cool a liquid down to -20 under a hood with 500dg of ambient heat around the engine.
    32dg would be a lot easier to obtain. I'm off to a company to discuss my idea Monday. Hopefully it will sell them on my skill and aptitude and get me a job. I've interviewed 3 times with them and this will be the 4th on Monday.

    Oh yeah, just an update! I got the job, a little later than i hoped but anyways. I'm running thier prototyping shop at the moment. We will eventually try to migrate to outside business rather than just project based functions. Which means, we will be providing CNC machining, vacuum forming, casting and prototype testing services. Which is wicked awesome!

    Did you get a patent yet on the super secret confidential for your eyes only thingamabob? I'd like to read your theory on how your are going to cool fuel to 32 degrees.
