Can't get engine to seperate from trans!

I've been busy tearing my engine compartment apart all day only to find that I can't get the block apart from the trans. I think the two tabs on the block might be corroded in to the holes on the bellhousing or something.

    Any tips or tricks?

Are you sure you have ALL the bolts out?

haha pull harder ....seriously jam a LONG flathead or something in there and jerk the hell out of it it really does seem like its stuck on there but i promise it just needs to be man handled same thing happened to another member on here turns out he just needed a bigger tool lol

...also you might want to have someone lift up on the tail of the tranny because if its unsupported then icraetes a little bind on those pins

    BIG TOOLS FTW!!

I should torch the hell out of it I bet it would pop. Be tricky trying not to melt any wires tho

you can always take an air chisel and drive the locating pins out of the block and into the transmission bell housing. I just noticed you're up there in MN where they destroy cars with road salts. Your best bet is to hit all bolts with penetrant for a while before attempting to remove. Whack them a couple times with a hammer to break the corrosion loose. Good luck with your disassembly.

    Don't pry on the flexplate.

Giving it hell up and down and side to side at the rear of the trans along with WD40 in the bell dowels is the best way but be careful.

this was the only way to get mine apart when i replaced the tranny. i triple checked all bolts and tried prybars and wound up getting pissed and just snatching like crazy before it came unseized.
