    06 4.8 sts turbo install advice(newbie)

hey guys after lots of reading and thought i decided to purchase sts turbo setup. im installing it on my 06 silverado crew cab with a 4.8L all stock. it has the intercooler as well. just wondering some tips ,advice, or anything i can do now to prolong problems down the road. especially tranny advice. the truck is on a 6inch lift running 35x12.50s all around. not trying to race it just mainly a little more power.

Buy an FLT Level 5 or 7.

What gears do you have? 4.56s would help that tranny lots.

Did you already buy the kit because if not I would recommend getting a front mount instead way more efficient don't need to run as much boost and less lag.

ditto on gears. normally with boost you want a lower gear...but i know my 5.3 and only a 3.73 hates my 35's. i'd imagine you want around a 4.10. Still semi low for boost, but high enough to where your tranny doesnt hate you.

lot of guys recommend atleast a shift kit and huge cooler on the 4l60e.

i'm running same size tires, with 160k hard miles on the clock...waiting for the trans to go in first, then ordering np's new front mount kit. If you didn't order sts already, i'd look into that. More efficient, and 35's throw A LOT of water around when it's raining...can't imagine your turbo will like that.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

You can always just build a small aluminum shield if your worried about water. You have to completely submerge it to do any harm. Foggy had one on his setup with 33s? or 35s? for the longest time. Meth injection would be a plus, as well as a 40k transmission cooler. I am running two small baby coolers on my lvl5 65e and it will stay around 150-160 after a while of driving
