which came first, the chicken or the egg? Let's get technical HERE !

    Ok ladies.

I just arrive from a "relaxing" (yeah right, who relaxes with a ton of hot chics in thongs and your wife at your side) trip to some paradisal Islands, so now I checked my emails, and got little to no answers to my needs.

Since you all have become technical here, let's TECH "THis" :

You all might know by now (including some lurkers form Ecuador that live on this site just to know what happens to my truck...LOSERS) that a few weeks ago my truck went down "because" the 2 u joints from the Drive Shaft were decapitated.

Now with new CSI evidence, we are not so sure what happens !!!!

    History goes like this:
*Rolling make a wot, and by 70mph thing went "boom"
*DS stood at the DS Clamp so no damage to this was done...but
*seem that vibration kill the aluminium bodies of TC and 80e

This was solved, and when everything was in place, truck did not move.

After this Mechanics took Diff Cover out and encounter Spider gear pin broke in 3 parts (spider kit was changed 2 month ago)

Further disabling showed Pinion damage too (received photos at my email when I was away)

Know evidence points that the first part to give up was the Diff, and that make the Pinion angle a 2Nd matter. This and the weakness of the 1430 u joints did the rest of the job.

    Some pics here:

Now since some or few know my OEM rear end is a variable from the D44HD use in ZJ or rubicon Jeeps (98-07) the question is:

Theories of how and why this happens?

Should I keep the housing and upgrade everything inside (pumpkin for locker, beefier axles, etc.)?

Or should I buy a new rear end assembly from Mosser, Strange or any of those sissy vendors, that BTW don't have a direct bolt on for my application !

Now that you have been cleansed up.....go tech ladies....show time !

Kind of hard to figure out what self disassembled first, but it took everything with it. I'm gonna make a safe assumption the 44 went out first though, since it's definitely the weakest link.

Have you tried posting this on the Ecuador forums?

Ray had the same thing happen to his truck, driveshaft/ujoint gave, sent a violent shock forward and busted the transmission and broke the engine block.
I say those weak 1330 ujoints you're running gave out. With that kind of torque, they aren't made to handle it.

why? If somebody brake something, they will replace with OEM parts, or aftermarket made in Venezuela.

Remember this are from DANAVEN, so the have their own design, forgery, etc.

I posted in all the 4x4 venezuelan Forums, they are in the same boat as me.....the upgrade to D60, bcause al the aftermarket options !

Thanks God My Engine is fine !

Your truck has a D44 instead of a 10 bolt? Was that a conversion you did yourself? I don't understand why Moser or Strange can't get you something for your application. Good luck, glad to hear that you or the motor didn't get torn up too. Pretty scary when those shafts/ujoints let go

Nope, the D44 came stock in the truck.....and is not a D44, I wish....is a D44HD, kind of the same use by the Rubicon or newer Jeeps.

The thing is stronger than the 10 bolts and normal D44, It has a D60 Pinion, a 8.6" thick Ring, and the Axles are D60 32Spline 1.625" Shaft Diameter!!!

The week part are the spider gears Shaft....it breaks like bamboo in hands of a Panda!!!

Those guys build universal stuff, I have to weld the spring perches, shocks brackets and else ! I too lazy, want a bolt on !

So Im guessing that was only available on trucks from your neck of the woods? Sounds like a pretty interesting hybrid of a D60 and a 10 bolt. I wonder what one would cost here in the states

Stop by a Nissan Dealer and Ask for a Titan 2004-2007 rear End M266, is same mix, with a touch of sushi.....and it also stinks !!!!!

The ones with OEM locker endure, the ones with open carriers Suck bad, and had tons of them down !

Difference is Nissan made it full floating, mine is Semi !
