Not a truck, but still a LSx swap

(2-10-08) Hey guys, great site you've got going here!
My name's Tanner and I currently drive a 1998 Chevy Tahoe, but that's staying stock. The real reason I'm here is because I'm swapping a 2003 Chevy 5.3l out of an Avalanche into my 1991 Nissan 240sx. I have a GTO oil pan to throw on, then the engine is gonna be getting a T56 tranny, and most likely a ls6 intake swap after its all mounted and running in the car the way it is factory.
The swap won't be done until spring time because the car is in storage, but I will definitely post a build thread on here.

Right now the only thing that I feel I need to figure out is the wiring for the swap (I don't really want to pay $4-500 to have a company do it but I might), and the fuel supply. I'm thinking of running a Walbro 255lph fuel pump with an aftermarket pressure regulator, but again, I'm not quite sure.

But, yeah. If anyone has any advice or comments that'd be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

(P.S. I copied some of my responses to questions from my "noob" introduction thread, so that's why the next few might not make sense)

(2-11-08) Update! Picked up the engine from Bow Auto parts in NH today. I feel I got a great deal, every accessory, computer, mounts, everything except the tranny for $850.

Anyway, here's some pics. Now I've got to save and find a T56...

I did a quick little search, but I didn't find what I was looking for.
This engine came with a drive by wire system, but I think I need to use a standard cable style throttle body. How should I go about doing that? Just have that removed in my pcm tune and cut the wires from the harness, or something different?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(2-12-08) Well, I got some pretty good work done today. I started by assembling the old engine stand we had dismantled in the parts room. Then I proceeded to pull the automatic flywheel off and remove the wiring harness. I was amazed at how easily all the plastic clips came off and I only had one break. Once the engine was on the stand I removed the stock headers, seeing as they'll be tossed; man they are heavy for being as small as they are. Once all that stuff was off and out of the way, I pulled all the accessories (water pump, alternator, starter, ac) from the block.
That was about it for today, But tomorrow I should be able to get the GTO oil pan and all that on.

After some research I've decided to do away with the "drive by wire" business. It's easy enough, just buy an aftermarket 80-90mm Camaro/Firebird throttle body, extend my cable if needed, have the "drive by wire" stuff removed from the PCM when I do the PCM, then remove the "drive by wire" section from the harness.

Anyway, here's some pics of todays work.

I was talking it over with my father and I think I'm gonna keep the drive by wire setup. I think it would be easier than changing my whole harness. I also think I'm gonna have to run the ls1/ls6 intake for clearance issues.

If you could do a write up about this, that would be awesome. My buddy is a big nissan fan. He had a 350z before he totaled it, and now he is looking into a 240 to maybe put his 3.5 350 motor into. If I can convince him this is a damn good idea with a write up, then that would be sweet.

We had a "snow day" today, so I was able to get a lot of work done. I started the morning by tearing my dad's yamaha apart so he can put new exhaust seals on, blah blah blah. Then I started working on my engine after lunch.
Started by draining the fluids, even though the tags said it had been drained I figured there would be more in there still. Drained the oil, then rolled the engine over on the stand. I proceeded to remove the numerous 10mm bolts from the oil pan, then the 10mm for the pick up tube, then all the 13mm or 12mm (can't remember which) bolts for the windage tray. All the oil drained and on the pan and what not looked pretty damn good.
Next I cleaned off all the GTO parts, oil pan, windage tray and pickup tube with about 2 1/2 cans of Brake-clean. Then I used a razor blade and scraped off all the gunk and old residue from the original oilpan/gasket.
I then put the new windage tray and pickup tube back on, followed by the pan, rolled the engine over, cleaned up all the mess then called it a day.

I just figured I'd kind of make this into a walkthrough/build thread.

But here's some pics, a couple of me re-assembling the windage tray and pick up tube.

duckysbht, no problem. I kind of planned on doing that to begin with, just for the fun of it and to help people out that might want to do what I am.

Here's just a few more pics of it re-assembled with the front sump GTO oil pan. I have to use a GTO (2004 only as far as I know) because the front sump allows room for the steering rack and crossmember to fit.
