    80e crossmember

    If I got a crossmember out of an 80e truck will it bold right into mine? Jwing cuz I have access to one.

    no, the frame is different, you'll want to cut the center from your original one and move it back, then brace it with 4" metal plate.

    i was wondering the same thing,i bet it would work,i bet we would have to move the ears for the mounts back thats why we got to cut ours

    Well don't forget that the 2500hd frames are about 1.75" taller than the 1500 frames. I haven't looked under one recently, but I would assume the crossmember mounts are further back as well.

    It doesn't seem too hard to modifiy a 60e member so I would just do that unless you just like being different.

    you can also buy a modified crossmember from transmissioncenter.net ready to go and you ship them your core back to get a large portion of your money back.

    i cant remember if you have the simple crossmember or not.. but this is a easy deal if you have a really 1999 marked as a 2000 like mine..

    I got the 80e crossmember for free. but it is completely different.
