leak somewhere, or stuck (carboned) throttle?
Ten four ill check for leaks. Tb is new.
My dbc tb has a port for pcv and so does my dbw intake. I capped intake and am using the tb port. Is this right
any pics? can you hear where the leak is coming from? or grab a can of throttlebody cleaner and spray it
I hooked the otc to it. Its idling at about 1050. Tps is at 0. I sprayed it with starting fluid looking for vacuum leaks didnt find any. It drops to about 950 in gear
Do you have a tune?
Yup np tuned. I think i found it. Sprayed a healthy dose of starter fluid around cylinder 3 manifold gasket and she changed pitch.
Intake gaskets didnt fix it. Im still hunting though
Just got up with a mechanic buddy of mine. We gonna put smoke to it. Maybe i can find it then
I had it tuned for lt headers. Due to budget cuts im running stoxk exhast manifolds. Could this cause my issues
Just put smoke to it. No vacuum leaks. Any other ideas
Maybe there is a crack in the intake?
I put smoke in the entire intake. After 10 min of smoking it out no leaks.
Did you try to clean your IAC?http://www.justanswer.com/uploads/mc...eplace-IAC.pdf
(not sure if it's the same TB you have but you should look at this.)
Do you know what the tune is commanding for idle, and also if the air vol minimums are set for your engine? If its looking for higher air volume it won't go down to the commanded idle.
If you're not leaking on the intake side, I'm forced to assume its doing what the tune is commanding.
The tb i bought had new tps and iac sensors
My data scanner can see the stft but i dont know what im looking at
being that it is tuned for lt's, the a/f is gonna be tweaked a bit, so either give np a call or patiently wait for lt's to see if that is it. when you free rev in neutral, what does it do?
Fuel trims would not be the tune issue. Its the idle tables that are the potential culprit.
Have you tried cleaning the maf?
Im starting to think tune myself. That would solve my headache. Its all good though. I sure with you guys help we'll get it figured out
This is why I do my own tuning. Not only am I able to eliminate it from issues, I can have any issues I find fixed in minutes instead of weeks.
I took the iac out and blocked the port it came from. I wanted to see if the pcm would control it. Started it up and the iac never moved. I tried two new iacs and nothing. I would expect them to move trying to reduce idle air.
I figured out that tge iac never moves. I have put 2 brand new ones in it. I can pull the iac out abot halfway and it will idle ok. But it will nearly die when i put it in gear. Maybe bad pcm?
Yeah it ohmed good. I tried to measure voltage could not get anything. Pcm on the way
I am sure you already checked this. The cable driven throttlebody has a set screw to adjust idle.
What PCM do you have?I'm sure you know but some PCM don't have the IAC drivers...

Got a new pcm installed and the IAC works it idles great in park. Got a slight surge in gear.
