Just a quick pic, the 6.0 is in the truck!
had to squint to see, and it appears to be gray blob on a red brick.
Fixed
Are you using the York compressor for an airbag setup? Clean firewall, for sure. :thumb:
Yes the 210 is for the air ride, and thanks for the comment about the firewall, I shaved everything extra that I won't use anymore.
man thats very clean. Good work!!! :thumb:
thats so sick dude! i cant wait to see it finished.
i like the firewall too. if i ever get a chance for a 5.3/60E s10 ill have to do that.
that 210 is a power robber. made my old truck a slug.
Any more pics? Are you using the truck pan? I am putting the 6.0 in my bagged and bodied crew cab. Looks good by the way.
Thanks man, I am using the F-body oil pan, it's great, when I am layed out there are 2 inches of clearance between the bottom of the pan, and the ground. and the pan clears the crossmember with ease. I don't have any more pics right now, but the truck is a crew cab stepside, or will be when assembled. I really like your CC dually, it's got to be a crew cab for me, even my DD is a 94 CC long bed.
hey I am runnin a 4/6 on my obs. Do you think I will need the car oil pan when I put in the 5.3?
Yeah I had my truck 4-6 for 6 years, and I would def. want the car oil pan, or at least the h3 pan it's shorter than the truck pan, but if you are going to change it, you might as well get the f-body pan. The truck pan really hangs below the crossmember, and would be the first thing to get hit.
Really? That sucks. I wonder how much I can get one for? All I need is the pan and the windage tray and it will bolt right up?
You need the pan, windage tray, pickup tube, and dipstick. I got it all from S & P for $325. Otherwise it's a direct bolt in, it even comes with new bolts.
Which motor mounts are you using and how close to the fire wall is it?
I am using motor mounts from tpiparts.net they are multi position, I didn't want to buy a set and have them not work, they will put the engine either 1 in forward. standard, or 1 in backward. I used the 1 in. backward position, and it's perfect, it put the trans right back in correct position. There is still plenty of room to reach your hand down between the motor and firewall. The only issue I could see is if I were BD'ed I would have to run LT header's to clear the firewall, the manifolds, or shorty headers would not clear. Take it easy
I got shorties for mine already. Thanks for the info. I am sure I will have more question.
Well I am new to the ls swaps to, but if I know something I will try to help. BTW are you keeping your front end with the short bed, I like it and wondered about your plans.
No, I actually sold that front end already. It did not look right. It looked to big in the front. I am going with the 98 stock front end for it. I want a nice clean look.
Did you rebuild your firewall, or just cut and weld everything you did not need?
I hear you, I also am going to run with my original 95 chevy frontend, everybody here that has a crew cab, has a caddy clip on it, so much that it starts to look normal. I cut and shaved everything I didn't need or want to be there, and did tubs for my 22's at the same time.
nice nice nice
Looks good.. I am about to start a 6.0 project on mine as well.
Nice. Excellent job on the firewall.
Thank's guy's!
