Check your fuel pressure.
fuel pressure is over 50 psi. i got dtc p0740 and p0785
was the trans seperated from the engine during the install? Could you possible have not got the converter in all the way properly? You could have broke the front pump if not true. When you bolt the engine and trans together you should have about 1/8" between the converter and flexplate before the converter bolts go in. The converter should spin freely when not bolted to the flexplate.
the engine and trans were not separated. is it possible the trans is not being powered up so its killing the motor
Not really. No power to trans means 3rd gear starts and no 4th.
Are you sure you have a 60e harness and not an 80e harness?
positive its the right harness i helped take engine, trans and harness out the truck. the truck was a 2004 suburban
Are you positive it has a 60e tune in it and not an 80e tune?
that i dont know how can i find out besides sending it back to the tuner
call the tuner and see what VIN tune he loaded or find someone with a tuner package to download the tune and read the VIN.
so if it was programmed for a 80e that would cause the engine to stall when put into gear
can a genesis scan tool download the vin
Not sure. HPTuner, EFILive, ...
so let me get this straight if the tune is for a 80e the engine will stall when put into gear
You will get SES codes related to the trans. 60e brown and white wires are different than on the 80e. The 3-2 shift solenoid wire hooks up to the TCC solenoid when wired wrong and will lock the converter in 1st gear, killing the engine, if I am reading the wiring correctly.
Try disconnecting the trans connector and see what happens, should work fine but start in drive without the electrical signals. If that is the case then you have the wrong tune or wiring harness. If it still dies you may have a locked up transmission or a bad convertor.
is it possible to repin the connector for a 4l80e and see if that solves the problem
try disconnecting it first and see if the engine still dies
You have to add an additional wire to go from an 80e harness to a 60e harness. It can be done but its not as easy as converting from 60e to 80e since all you have to do is unplug one wire and move another from its original location to the place you unplugged the other. I did that conversion on Bud8Fan's harness this weekend, took about 20 minutes under the hood at the PCM to move the wires around.
are u talking about the connector next to the shifter linkage or the one on top of the trans behind the dipstick
the big round one on the passenger side of the trans.
ok i'll keep my fingers crossed and try it thanks for all the info
i had a 4l80 tune accidentally on my 4l60 and it did not stall just had trouble moving forward
