why complain about that, there were 1st gen BB camaros.
your right there WERE. but there was also smallblock c1500's.
or how dare they swap a fuel injected ls1 into a first gen camaro. wtf is wrong with them right.
its hot rodding, forget what purists think. why dont they go bitch out the guy who let his 454ss rot away plowing snow or some shit then the guy trying to better the shitty ass TBI big block GM stuck in it
Next thing you know some goober is going to try and put a turbo Nissan 4 banger in a C1500. :puke:
what do they have for headers for this swap
llp makes a header that will for you. ive recently read that someone used a set of headers for a ls1 camaro and had to message them on the passenger side but they fit.
also some others use big block hooker or smallblock hooker headers and cut and weld a ls1 flange to the header.
and redheartbeat im guessing you didnt look in hot rod at the 2jz swapped first gen camaro.... that made me little sick seeing he bought a full restored one then did that to it. but hey thats hot rodding look at the history when it all started with going fast. dont be such a "keep high valvue in EVERYTHING and numbers matching kinda of guy" let people explore and make unique things that are fast and different.
sorry for crowding your thread.
i got the motor. the salvage yard said it was out of an 03 with mad low miles so let the build begin
i just need to find a 4l80e
Look here, great group of guys to deal with. If I were to do another conversion, and need headers I would buy from them without any hesitation. And they are also a site sponsor.

Depends how you have your motor for the headers. If you want to keep the stock a/c unit and you notch the frame. Your motor will sit up about 4-5 inches closer then it should, and you will need to probably get a set of f body headers.
I used Hooker long tubes in mine. They fit for the most part but, like they said you will have to work on the pass side a bit i.e. upper A arm mount and frame
