hi all i got a trans dapt ls1 engine mount adaptor kit see link provided, The plates bolt up to the engine but the new mount that is supplied in the kit is to small and wont fit over my engine mounts that bolt onto the chassis! is it just a case of ordering new engine mounts that bolt onto the chassis or do i need a new kit?? if i do need a new kit can someone provide a link to the kit i need please? cheers ryan

are you saying you removed the factory rubber mounts off of the front engine crossmember and the new ones won't bolt back in place of where the old mounts were? Is this a 2wd or 4wd truck?
correct, I have what i think they call "clam style mounts" im pretty sure, truck is a 2wd i will get some pics up!
You just use the trans dapt plates and bolt the old mount that slides over the chassis mount to the trans dapt plate. I bought the same kit and tried to use the mounts that come with it too.

classic one i just done what you said to do and it will work but as the mount is not flat there is a gap between the original motor mount and the transdapt mounting plate, was your ones the same?
Yes I had to shim it away from the plate with one washer in the transdapt kit. I believe they are gold washers. You may have to shim more or less to get the engine to sit right.
all you have to do is grind it flat worked for me
ok thanks guys, Ill have another look at them and see how crappy they looked shimmed with the washers or see if i can grind the mount down a bit. The instructions are not very well detailed really! may even build a decent set once i have the engine sitting where it should be, but if they looked half decent shimmed ill use them, cheers again!
