NEED HELP!!!!!!!!! knock sensor codes!

I have an 03 silvy with a 4.8L with 146k miles on it. Well, the check engine light came on awhile back with the code P0332, knock sensor low circuit input (bank 2). Well, i sent the truck to the shop and had the knock sensor replaced. well on my way home from the shop the check engine light came on again. code P0332, same code as earlier, so i sent it back to the guy and he replaced the knock sensor and wiring harness to the sensor. well 2 weeks later the light comes back on and its the same code p0332. well, now the guy is insisting that the motor is knocking, but i would figure it would throw a different code then the P0332 if the motor was knocking. Just need some help trying to figure out if i should send it back to him and have another sensor installed or are there any other people who have had this issue and have resolved it.

Is your mechanic torqueing the sensor down to 15 ft.lbs?

Did you clean your engine just prior to setting the code? That error is common when water collects in the rear sensor valley and then corrodes or shorts the wiring harness. Check the resistance coming from the sensor harness. It should be about 100 ohms.

It's possible it's knocking. Have you searched the site for KS codes and P0332?

its not knocking, and yes i had washed my motor and it start to come on, but since then, i had replaced the knock sensor and the wiring harness. and i dunno what my mechanic does. but also it could be a bad battery connection, and i had just put my system in right before this happened as well, and i put a extender on my positive terminal, imma take it off and move it to the jumper box. when the system hits i can see my volts drop a lil and that could also cause the knock sensor to come on cause its showing that it is losing volts

The KS doesn't freak 'cause of voltage (ever), it freaks 'cause your system is making enough mechanical racket to set the DTC.

Now thats what happened to me.. washed my engine..

At least we know its not the sensors.. unless they used the harness again, or possibly even just dried the old sensors putting them back in.. Hope not, I would be one angry mofo

We're at the point now where any further input would be guesses. We need to know the resistance across the two wires coming from the rear sensor. Can you trace them to where they enter another harness and get this reading? It should be about 100 ohms. If it's a lot less than this, there's a short somewhere. If it's a lot more, there's either an issue with the connector/harness, or the sensor is not making a good ground contact.

the light hasn't come back on after moving my system cable, and if it does i'll check the resistance and stuff then.

if its gonna come back on it will tomorrow when i drive to college station which is about an hour or so away
