Not a cheap tool at all but very useful. They wont work on 2011 and newer vehicles though. Are you looking to get the candi module with it?

what are you going to use it for? just to scan or to also flash?

We have one for the shop and it's definitely a needed tool. Hptuners does a lot for the engine side but nowhere near the capabilities of a gm supported tool.
We use it a lot for the other modules on board.

Btw. We were using it on silversleepers 2011 6.2L to diagnose the airbag and other stuff. It works on a 2011's

They actually work on most 2011 and newer GM vehicles. The only ones they wont work on are the ones with global diagnostics.

We do alot with vettes and it wont work on them. We have to use a laptop system.

I like the Snap On Ethos and it's about in the same price range.

Only 2011's and 2012's the tech 2 won't work on that I know of is the malibu, cruze, sonic, regal, lacrosse, srx, terrain, orlando.... that's all I can think of, works on the 2012 trucks.
