    Purple Starter Wires

So I am closing in on my 1996 4.8L LS swap. I have two 10 or 12 gauge purple wires coming from the under hood fuse box and it's labeled starter relay. One goes to the small post on the starter solenoid I believe. Where does the other one go? Unfortunately I snipped the end off when I pulled the v6 and I am not sure where it goes.

One should come from the ignition/key, to the solenoid on the starter.
Possibly going thru a relay in the fuse block.

One thick wire goes to the battery or ignkey, the other side to the solenoid.

Going off of memory from way back

Thanks for the reply Farmtruc. I just got back from the Junk yard to look at some trucks for an education. I have 2 thick purple wires coming from the starter relay in the under hood fuse panel on the driver side inner fender well. It appears 1996 truck were the only ones to have this at the junk yard. I check 2 1997's, a 98', and a 99 tahoe. From looking at a schematic from the Internet it appears one should go to the starte ras you suggested and the other to the Neutral safety switch. The problem I am seeing is the 2004 neutral safety switch wires are about a 16 gauge and the 1996 purple wire is like a 10 or 12 gauge wire. First i do not know if I am 100% correct but that's what it appears and Seconf I am wondering if this purple wire is going to carry to much current to the smaller wire on the 2004 neutral safety switch.

Hasn't anybody done this yet? I want to use the factory 1996 column shifter with the 2004 neutral safety switch. Isn't this possible?

The 04 safety switch does have an 18g wire and it interrupts the signal to the trigger side of the relay, big wire not needed.
If you're gonna run the power wire from the battery/ignition thru that purple wire, then thru the PRDL of the trans, then don't use that 18g wire, too small.
Maybe have that 18g wire trigger a relay, then power the starter using those purple wires.
