Well, we monkied with the fuel a little today and the truck pulled 361 (old 355) and 340tq. I'm doing the FAST intake, Nick Williams 90mm TB, will have to change the fuel rails to the LS style and probably need to change out the injectors.

I'm thinking about running a dyno without the muffler to see if there's any improvements that could be made in the flow.

    So I figure:

    900 Intake
    400 TB
    350 injectors
    200 (stock LS1 fuel rails)
    Tune
    Labor
    custom pre-intake (nothing fancy)

Any idea of what the labor (number of hours) it would be?

So all this for 15 - 20 HP...grrr...still 380hp at the wheels is too much to resiste (yeah - even if its actually only 360 on a mustang dyno)....

    Thanks -

I would assume about 6 hours of labor, excluding the tune. It can be done much faster if you took them everything already assembled. You can put the intake together off the truck and then all you have to do is bolt it on. That shouldn't take but about 30 minutes to an hour to swap them out.

    Thanks RedHeartBeat!!

I'm also going to swap out the clutch fan for the dual electric fans during the same time. Found the Flexlite 280s for $400 too.

Something else I found really interesting was the 5.3liter crank pulley - ls1 pulley is an extremely small pully compared to it. Its closer to the size of the LS7 crank pulley.

You should have no problem doing the entire install yourself. What is your current setup? The 5.3L vs 5.7L has the belt grooves in different locations. The LS1 pulley is much shorter. Are you using the LS1 or the 5.3 accessories right now? Do you have the LS1 intake or truck intake now? What about water pump, LS1?

Its messed up to be honest. I've got the 5.3 liter setup from the accessories perspective. What's really messed up about the setup? It uses the old 1993 TBI 5.7liter A/C compressor vs the LS1 5.7liter mini compressor......

Its currently got the 6.0 liter truck intake

hmm....waterpump.....waterpump.....never thought about that....ugghh....will take a look tomorrow morning
