For general kind of items (coolers, hose fittings, e-fans, switches, etc etc) Summit Racing has yet to do me wrong. They seem to have pretty competitive prices, never screw up my orders and alot of times have free shipping offers. Plus they ship Fedex, so it's possible to get your goodies delivered on Saturday.

I placed an order Wednesday afternoon, got free shipping, and Fedex tracking says it will be here tomorrow (Saturday)

i have had better experince with Jegs myself. summit has messed up a couple of my orders before, and i've gotten sales reps that couldn't do an oil change. thier site is a little harder to navigate to me compared to jegs. just my opinion tho.

It's just based on my experience w/ them. I haven't done a whole lot of business with Jegs, but they do have a good rep.

I really like Summit's site if I'm looking for a specific brand, it allows you drill in a number of different ways that is pretty useful.

I have dealt with both and had awesome service from both except an order or two I had to wait a few week to arrive from the manufacturer. This has happened with both companies. Shipping has always been minimal with them. Most orders are shipped free. I have had similar experience with all the online/mail-order companies. I have learned to ask if they have the parts ordered in stock and when to expect delivery. Many times they will take your order and sit on it until stock arrives, possibly 4 weeks. If you don't let them know you need it NOW, they will just sit on your order for weeks if the don't have it in stock. Overall, I love mail-order for saving me tons of money on all my past mods and I will continue to use them all until someone screws me over. Once that happens I will quit using them plus spread the word of my experience to warn others.

THe only time I've had to order anything from Summit, which was way back in 1997, they got it to me quick, and exactly what I ordered. While working on my '78 Chevy Custom Deluxe, I was screwing the water temp sensor into the intake and -crack- I broke the intake manifold. This gave me the excuse I needed to get a brand spanking new edelbrock intake. I ordered it over the phone, and they got it out to me by the end of the week. Nice service from them.
